MacPro - Overpriced?

Also of course PC has more support but that's been beaten to death and is well known.

I will admit to a bit of bias towards PC but that's based in fact for the most part. Price to performance ratio goes to PC in almost every case.

The thing is it's not all about how powerful the Mac is, it's about the experience using them. If you've played with one I'm sure you could understand a little bit.

I have never really used a Mac, I'm only talking from a hardware and price perspective.

Well then you can't have a good opinion on it then, because that's the main thing about Macs: the experience. From buying it, getting tech support for it, using applications on it, all that. Sure, they may not be the best for gaming, and I know many Mac users who agree with that and have PCs they've build just for gaming, but they still use their Macs as their primary computer because of how great they are as a whole.

All I said was PC's are better than Macs at gaming from a price to performance standpoint almost all of the time. Overall user experience was not something I addressed and don't pretend to know anything about.

Maybe if I'm designing some catalogues, processing some art work, taking down notes, or using for daily usage at lectures, then I'll consider MacBooks as decent device. HOWEVER, their prices are still way too high compared to that of the ultrabooks that are out there...

The ultrabooks running Windows with not-so-great battery life and crappy parts? Yeah no thanks. The prices are worth what you get out of a MacBook.

I agree. When you go out and buy a low/mid-ranged laptop you end up getting a bulky, cheap feeling laptop with crap loads of bloatware installed and horrible battery life. Mac's are great in the aesthetics department, and I easily get 6 hours of battery life on my MacBook Pro.

I don't understand where you are getting this from....

I physically own a Samsung Series 9 with Windows 7 running on it. It's ridiculously fast and the battery life is actually far better than I expected it to be :S

That's actually a nice looking laptop but I bet it came with a bunch of bloatware like Geoff said, and how many hours of battery life do you get out of it?

And I'm talking about most PC laptops out there today. Just walk into Walmart or BestBuy.

Yea, I agree that there are many stupid brands out there that won't last more than 1 hour. I think I know now what you meant. I have LG Laptop from 5 years ago and it was absolute garbage starting from the time when I bought it.

However, I still stand on my case that my ultrabook actually lasts more than 4+ hours easy. Never really gone beyond 3-4 hours because I didn't need to. All I wanted to say is that it's kinda clear that there are alternatives out there like Samsung and Asus' Zenbook with decent parts, more than sufficient for daily usage. It's not like you're gonna be doing gaming or processing 3D Models with ultrabook/macbook pro anyways (unless macbook pro is well known for that, then correct me).

Plus, those bloatwares that came with Samsung isn't so bad. I don't use them anyways, at least it's not like Dell or HP where they spam your computer with utterly useless softwares.

Why Bloatware is a concern for pick a pc or laptop? all you need to do is uninstall them. it won't take more than one hour? It is not tie to the OS that you can't delete them.

Not all bloatware can be uninstalled like that, and on some computers there's so much of that crap that it's just better to format and reinstall Windows.
