problem with crossfire

I am currently running a computer using
psu corsair 850w
phenom 2 965
16GB corsair 1866 ram
saphire 5850 1GB
western digital 500GB hardrive
and an asrock 870 extreme3 r2.0

my problem is I have bought another saphire 5850 to crossfire and when I install it I get a c6 message on the motherboard and nothing else works ..

ie the cpu and graphics fans are working but the computer does not boot.

any ideas on getting this going?

the computer runs fine when using a single graphics card and I have tested both cards in another computer so its not the graphics cards themselves ..

the power supply is brand new.

Im wondering whether the motherboard is faulty and I have to replace it or there is some fix for it which would make my day.

thanks in advance al.

Are you overclocked at all? That seems to be the issue here from what I am seeing. Your C6 debug reads as "Re-enable cache for boot strap processor" which sounds like a processor issue to me.

no overclock that I am aware of I used stock standard bios settings when I built it .. brand new crossfire cable today .. and after reseting the cmos I get the same thing.

Im using the latest drivers ..

not sure what the problem is .. I thought maybe the graphics cards were running at different speeds but they are the same brand same model card.

again the comp runs fine when I use one card the problems start when I install a second card.

the readings off the motherboard are 4D - 31 - 60 - 71 - and Im starting to think that the C6 is really Cb

I am calling BS. The manual clearly has several C debug codes.
