Few days ago my computer froze and started making some strange hard drive noises, then when I restarted it came up with a message "windows can not be started, this might be because bla bla bla" and gave me the options to run windows repair or start windows as usual. Of course I tried the usual and it just returned back to the can not start screen again, I tried the repair and it just got stuck on some page for more than 30 minutes so I turned off and put in my windows install USB. Was a bit slower than usual to reinstall but it worked and everything was running fine for about a day, then the windows can not start screen came back again.
Sounds like a harddrive problem right? But ok I thought I will reinstall one more time and give it another chance, I boot from USB (windows 7 startup) and it gets stuck on a screen saying "setup is starting" for about 15 minutes or more, normally it should only take about 1 minute for this screen.
But I am booting from the USB drive right? So if my hard drive was affected surely it would not affect the windows installer?
Any ideas on what the problem might be, and if it can be fixed?
