Memory issue! PLEASE HELP ME!!

Mobo: ASUS M4A79T Deluxe AM3 DDR3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard

Memory: G.SKILL 16GB (4 x 4GB) Ripjaws Z Series DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) 240-Pin Desktop Memory

I can only run computer with 1 stick of this memory or else my computer will freeze up at various time intervals. Whether it be during start up before it gets to desktop, or at any amount of time there after (1 minute to 5 hours). I was running G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory and had the same issue. I can only ever have 1 stick of memory in (doesn't matter what stick of mem I install) without any lockups. Only way out of a locked up computer is a hard reset. Sometimes I have to keep my computer off for a few minutes or else my computer screen won't turn back on with the computer (the computer will power on but won't start booting up windows).

I also just had to buy a new harddrive due to some kind of error that wouldn't recognize(?) that I had a harddrive installed. It would show in bios, but wouldn't boot from it. Also I couldn't overwrite the copy of windows that was on the harddrive and received some other error message.

This is driving my completely batty and would love some help on this. (I built this computer myself.)

Before you ask I've ran memtest86 on all stick of memory together and individually with no errors. I read that maybe my voltages could be off and could be causing the mobo to shut down.

So please help me out here. Thank you in advance.

Doesn't matter, 1600 will always downclock to 1333 unless memory settings are manually changed. However, the 2133 may be causing issues since the board doesn't even support that speed even with overclocking.

Plutocat,

Put the 1600mhz sticks back in and go into the bios and make sure the timings and voltage are set to what the memory should be.
 
so i tried to run my old ram at
1600mhz
9-9-9-24
1.5v dram
cpu nb 2400mhz
ht link 2400mhz

bios post says unable to overclock to 1600. not sure why. gonna try to up my dram to 1.6 and see if that helps stability.

so after 1 hour and 25 minutes flash player stopped working in browser, my game shut down, momentary lock up on desktop, and ultimately a bsod (memory_management). conclusion my mobo doesn't like my memory.

so now i'm back down to 1333mhz with dram still at 1.6v. we'll see how long this works.
 
just had bsod (PFN_LIST_CORRUPT) after about 5 minutes after restart. random bsod error messages seems like memory issues to me. not sure what to do from here. taking it back down to one dimm of memory until i can find out some new information.

and just wanted to report another bsod (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL)
 
Memory issues. Or possible motherboard issue with the memory slot itself. Try borrowing some 1333mhz memory to see if the issues still exist. If so then its definately a motherboard issue.
 
Other then making sure the Timing and Voltage is right for the speed have you checked the command rate? If its at 1T, try 2T.
