Processor recommendation

Hi.
I am about to buy a laptop, which I will mainly use for programming. Since this is the first time I am choosing a laptop, I need some advice. :confused:
Which CPUs would you recommend?

Which type of programming are you going to do?
For basic and medium, dual core i3, i5 would be enough. Its hard to tell you exact processor, but if you have a budget then we can recommend a laptop with your needs.

I am doing small, recreational programming. I am looking for laptops at around $1000 or less. Thanks for the advice! :)

An i3 should do the job, but if your budget is 1000$ you can better get a laptop with an i5 for like 700-800$.
Do you want an SSD?

You can choose any Lenovo, Toshiba, Dell, Sony, Asus laptops with Intel i3, i5 CPUs, with minimum 4 GB memory. If you need portability and good battery life then you can also go for an ultrabook, they have an SSD for faster booting and program startup.
