Hi all
I have a legit Windows XP CD with serial key for a version of Windows XP I had on an old computer. This is not an OEM version. A proper retail copy.
The computer it was originally installed on is long since defunct - in fact the only disc it has ever been installed on was formatted and is now a secondary drive in my newer Windows 7 machine.
Can I (legitimately) install this copy on to my son's laptop (originally an OEM XP laptop) which has slowed right down to the point of being useless. It doesn't seem to have a factory reset function.
Thanks for any thoughts.
