WiiU Xbox 360 or PS3?

So Christmas is coming up and im thinking about a new console, I've been an avid Nintendo fan all my life, however the Wii was a horrible system, it was hacked to death. But I really want a new system, if the WiiU is easily hacked then I don't want to go through another six years of regretting to get that system. HALP!

Personally, I would go for a PS3. I have an Xbox, and I don't like it one bit, mainly because my PC does all games better with a higher resolution. PS3 has some console only titles that I really like, like the SOCOM series (played since the original).

Been serious though,id say go with the new PS3 "Slimmer" brand new for around £135...ive had a 360 before and while its just as good i enjoy using the PS3 more.

Not wanting to turn this into a console war or fanboyism thread,I'm just giving my opinion.

I think the Wii U is overpriced,the only game that looks quite good is ZombieU.

You need to ask yourself what your friends play on,then take a look at what games are available for each system and determine which has the most your interested in.

Yes, I am building a computer some time next year too! But I do enjoy console gaming, most of my friends have xbox's its just I would be gutted if I bought a ps3/360 and then sony/microsoft bring out another system 9 months later!
 
If you are building a computer and want to game in the mean time, don't get a Wii U, buy a PS3 and with the saved money put it towards the PC. If you want to play with freinds, go with PS3 as the 360 has a paid service which means less money for the PC. And what do you mean Hacked to death?

Basically every other player on the online gaming facilities was a hacker, from MW3 to Mario Kart... And I got very tired of it, at the end of the day they weren't even hacking they were copying and pasting a few lines of code they found online.
And yeah im definitely considering the PS3 now, any ideas on when the PS4 is due out?

I cant see it be anytime yet,they only recently put out the new "Slimmer" PS3 and im betting sales are still going strong so they will milk it as long as possible.

Nintendo are bringing out a new, smaller Wii, even though the WiiU is out. The PS3 slim might just have come out, but it doesn't mean another console isn't close.

Expect to hear of the PS4/Xbox 720 next year, with release date either Q3/Q4 2013 or Q2/Q3 2014 I am betting.

Right now, I would take a used console on the cheap, and as your friends all have the 360, I would take the 360, though personally I prefer the PS3
 
The Wii U, being that nintendo is finally focusing on online, should not be nearly as hackable. I thought you said you were building a PC next year, but you want the PS4 which will probably cost a ton!? It will be at least until late next year for the PS4, I expect mid to late 2014.

I am indeed building a computer next year, mainly for university and for casual gaming, because you can't get some of the quality games on the WiiU I was planning to get the Wii U but then the speculation about jt being really easily hacked kind of steered me away from it.
 
I'll give you a little fact about my PS3. It has worked for 5 and 1/2 years perfectly. Had a little fault and got it repaired and it works fine again. So for reliability i don't think you can fault PS3s... :)
 
I don't buy systems until they've been out a year or so. Nintendo will sell a ton of Wii U's as people love new tech. The reviews I've seen do not sell me on it yet. None of the games are must have.

If you get a ps3/xbox you already have years and years worth of great games for cheap. More than enough to keep you gaming for a year or two and then make a next gen decision.

There will a be a new xbox in 2013 from what everyone is saying. That will mean a bunch of 360 stuff will be available around that time for cheap. So if you go 360 that will be a benefit. The PS4 could be 2 years away. So the PS3 will still be the current supported system with modern games coming out for it until then.
 
Xbox 360. I have both. The ps3 lasted around a year now it contiually crashes and is about as fast as a snail. The Xbox is a lot faster the graphics are better the whole system is just so much nicer and better yes you do have to pay for online but atleast xbox didn't get hacked unlike the ps3 plus it's made by microsoft so that makes it better just by the fact that it's made by microsoft.
