Computer Build Help/Ideas

So this is my first post, and let alone my first true computer build. I know the in's and out's, and have been working on computers my whole life. So it wont be difficult for me to build one, just never have had the money to actually make a system that I personally wanted, catered to my needs.

Anyways, Im trying to keep this as a budget build but with great specs that will intern last me a good time. With that said, I am an avid photoshop user, I watch TV online, Stream Radio, Play Video Games, and as well as your normal day to day duties. (email, social networking, that kind of deal)

Currently I am using a POS old Dell Desktop, that cant handle any of it. Prior to this I had a fully custom, upgraded, dell laptop that handled my life semi smooth.

So heres the run down and complete list of what I plan to get;

Along with a case, fans, memory card reader, the whole nine yards. But thats the main technical things. I currently have a 120GB Sata HD ill be using in this build, I tend to not fill it easily as well as I have an external 120GB that holds all of my movies. I as well have a Sata DVD Burner ill be using in this build as well.

Currently the items above are from OutletPC. I have shopped around on Newegg, Geeks, & TigerDirect to name a few, and found relatively what I want on OutletPC for a better deal. Plus the free shipping once you spend a certain amount.

Currently the build is at $402.63, If I can get that price down, Id love to! The motherboard supports Athlon II, which I did look into the quad core which was nearly half the price but I just cant get my mind off the Phenom ii x6.

Anyone have any suggestions for cheaper parts, better alternatives, or even better site to be purchasing these at?

3. Don't need 16gb of memory

Whats your reasoning behind the FX-4100?

I heard that the Phenom Series was a far more better work horse than the FX Series. Even the Phenom Quad in Comparison to the FX Quad, the Phenom out performs other than graphics of course.

Not arguing, Just asking :) Im taking all opinions with an open mind. I did see that Corsair PSU after I posted this and Im kind of leaning towards it but the low end power is my main issue with it.

The only downside to johnb35's build is that he choose the fx4100. The FX4300 is better in IPC and general performance.

The good thing about the FX series is that they all overclock pretty well, meaning that though Phenom beats them in IPC, you can beat them in the number of cycles. And teh FX*3** series matches or beats Phenom II in IPC.

Im actually looking into the FX-8120 now that everyone is talking about it. Would that be overkill in a CPU? 8 Cores but can be tuned to 4 cores with over 4.0GHz.

Think I skipped over this when looking for a CPU the first time around.
 
The corsair psu is 10 times better then the one you picked. A good 800 watt psu will cost over $100 not the $35.98 one you picked. You don't want to skimp out on a psu, its the backbone of your system. And the only reason I picked the 4100 was because thats the only cpu available at a cheap price on that site. There is no 4300 on that website.

I understand and Knew that PSU would come back with bad opinions. I mainly just got excited over the wattage but even at that, it can come in and only read out 400w and last a week.

Im trying to find a decent power supply that can supply exactly what I need that wont crap out or be under powered.

So lets say quad core to hex core cpu.
1-2 Hard Drives
1 Optical
Normal Fans
No larger than a 1GB Graphics Card
Standard PCI Sound Card (no clue on size, its in my current pc)

What would you suggest for a good power for the power supply to be? I wont be running SLI or Crossfire anything.

I was just mainly worried of "under powering" it. I used a PSU Calc online and I got mixed results from 600w - 750w
 
As long as you won't be running a high end gaming card, the cx430 is fine for that build.

Forget about the 8120, get the 8320 now. Much better chip.
