Are Desktop Computers...Portable?

Hello,

What I mean to say is, is it OK to transport my PC on a regular basis?
My parents are divorced, living in 2 different houses I probably should of saved up for a gaming laptop but...oh well. I need to know if I can transport my computer about once a week from house to house. It will be in the car so it should be pretty safe, I was just wondering if it was bad to move it that often.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
