When I try to install Direct X, I get this message; "A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. Please verify the Cryptographic Service are enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valid."

What does this mean? Thanks.

Edit: Also I'm getting the "Aw, Snap!" error, almost every time I open a tab/website. Any suggestions?

Usually the aw snap Chrome messages are from a plugin/addon misbahaving.

For the cabinet error, there are lots of potential solutions.

First make sure your Cryptographic service is enabled - right click on Computer, pick manage, click on services on the left then find Cryptographic and make sure it says started in status.

If that checks out then try redownloading the runtime from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

Make sure your windows updates are all installed.
