h, i have just changed my processor, it is compatible with my slot and motherboard, the problem is when my computer loads up i type in my password and then it just freezes, it can load up no problem in safe mode and works fine in that mode, all drivers for the processor are up to date, but when i use a programme that finds my specification for me it says there is a cpu dll error can anyone help with this?

Boot up in safe mode and go to the device manager. Delete all entries under processor and reboot normal.

That sounds like a horrible idea.
not at all. When you do that, it automatically reinstalls the stock intel driver on reboot. Same as reinstalling USB. I would try it. But first, I would update teh BIOS to the one that supports your processor to fix the issue. Windows is not the issue at all, as with the exception of the original Phenom, all processors use the same driver. Does not matter if it is a 3960x or a Pentium III, its the same driver.
