IP Log?

Hey all,
I've been looking around for some networking tools recently. I tried to go through my router to see if I could log all the IP addresses I connect to but I have no idea if I can and where to go. I was looking into Cain and Abel but wasn't too sure based off of some negative reviews saying its a Trojan.

Is there any way to monitor/record the IP addresses I connect to?

I've heard of that before.
Any pros/cons?

Every time I read about a network management tool there's always "contains malware" "contains backdoor" :/

Wireshark is legitimate software to check packets and their sender/receiver, as well as intermediate points (such as routers).

Alright, thanks.
One more thing, is it able to pick up IPs from PS3s/Xboxs?

It will show any network traffic that travels through the connected interface, so it probably won't. Just whatever packets are sent to and from the connected ethernet line of the computer.

It will work, yes, but as I said, it will only monitor incoming and outgoing connections of the selected port (need it be the wireless card or ethernet port of the laptop). For an entire network log you'd need to find another piece of software.

Crud. Do you know of any software then? I forgot to add how I've got wireless connections in my house and long story short, my sister isn't so.. smart... with the internet.. and her usage. Lol.

That. I got her to stop for a bit by blocking some websites, but I know she still tries to find other ones. She doesn't care if she gets caught and fined, so I have to take matters into my own hands. That, and how much she's on the internet and whenever she has friends over. I have a fast enough connection but with everything that connects to my router.. sometimes it'll start to snail on me.
