gtx 660?

So, it's been a while since the last time I was wondering which video card to get and I noticed that the gtx 660s have significantly dropped in price, can anyone tell me how good are they as compared to something like an hd 7850?
 
I am not sure, recent drivers have improved performance somewhat, it may be quite a bit quicker, but i would not know until i saw a comparison of the new nvidia drivers.
 
The GTX 660 runs the same price as the HD7870, not the HD7850. The GTX 660 runs like 220 bucks and above. You can get a HD7850 for like 165/170 bucks
 
if you have the money go for the 660ti.
but the 660 is better than the 7850.
only the have 192bit and the 7850 256 bit.
but i dont have a problem with that.
go for the 660 but look at the best 1
 
Id go for the 7870, and IDK when bt there's a 7870xt coming out soon which is a locked down 7950 and the specs make it seem like a beast, and it might be able to unlock to a 7950
 
I don't know where you get these prices but a used gtx 660 on e-bay is $190 and an hd 7850 2gb is $185 so the price difference almost doesn't exist. And the 7870 is way more expensive at $230.
 
...we arent looking on ebay...you sure thats a brand new 660 for 190? Most people use newegg ow whatever site for the person's country

I said that these are prices for a used gtx 660, but anyways new one on newegg is $215 which is still not too bad (cheaper than the cheapest 7870 on newegg)
 
I hate that they dont have performance comparisons with the latest drivers cuz i think the 7850 and 660 are about equal, but the660 costs more and it has physX and better drivers normally, so it might not be worth it

Yeah that sucks... I guess I'll just wait until some website shows some benchmarks...
 
what do you think of this card, maybe you dont want the club 3d but sapphire and 2 other brands have thim to.
for around 215 euro in holland you have a bloody hell fast 7870

I have the Asus 660Ti. All i have to say is DAAAAAMNNN!. I absolutely love this card. I have tried many games (ie, Crysis 3 beta, Borderlands 2, Crysis 2, Crysis Warhead, COD (2, BO), ect). Absolutely amazing. Runs whisper quiet, keeps really cool, and pretty good FPS.

I haven't tweaked it yet, no need as of right now. Works well with 3D as well.

Yeah, unfortunately the 660 TI is a completely different card than the regular 660 :D, and besides I have already ordered a new gtx 480 for only $160 !!!! :D
