Mint vs Fedora

I need a Linux OS that can run fast, connect to other computers in my home network easily, connect to windows computers (through network), run windows programs the best (wine, or VM), and can be customized. Right now I'm deciding between Mint, and Fedora. Suggestions?

Mint. Fedora has a history of kernel updates breaking the system.
Plus, things are more readily available in an Ubuntu based Linux os not to mention more documented as well.

Could he use Fedora and only take the stable kernel updates?

lol. I am referring to the stable kernel updates. :P
I ran fedora for several months and kept having my system break from them. A couple of co-workers have had the same problem. Dunno why it happens so often.

Also, if you try to pin a working kernel, it will break your system(more then likely). However, anything debian based (including ubuntu, mint, etc) can usually cope with this fine as long as your not running any experimental programs.

Honestly, I would use Fedora, as I like the layout and feel of it, but I think Mint would be better. If you want something lightweight, then Debian or Crunchbang looks good :)
