Problem: I am registered on a forum that I don't wish to be on any longer. How do I cancel my registration and delete all my posts if possible from this forum ? There is a link to register there but I see no option for someone who wishes leave the forum and erase their registration . The forum is called Urban Toronto that I want to cancel my registration to . I sent an e mail to the forum administration but have not received a reply. Due to the posts of some of the members I don't want to have anything to do with this forum any longer but how do I unregister ?

The answer is probably that you dont.

Just leave it, your posts will slowly disappear down the list.

I'm an admin on a reasonably successful forum here in Norfolk and we very rarely delete accounts. Why should we? The information could be valuable to someone.

Something else that I am curious about is if members of the forum can see when I am online even when I don't visit the forum ? So what you are saying is that it is not possible to delete a registration in a forum and that the only option is to not post or visit the forum any longer ?

As long as you are not logged into the forum they can't see that you are online through the forum.
Some forums have to option to quit, but most don't.

You'll find that a lot of forums out there don't allow you to delete all your posts, which from a forum admin's point of view is a good thing. Some of your posts or threads could be helping people find the forum, as well as contributing to the total post count.

If you're really mad then if you can edit your posts on that forum you could go through and replace the contents of all your posts with nonsense, forcing the mods to delete them.

That's what I was trying to do , deleting my posts one at a time. The problem is that it is so time consuming and I don't know if it is worth it. I was a member for 2 1/2 years so I have a lot of posts. I guess that the best thing to do is to not participate in that forum in the future. Anyways I do want to thank those of you here that took the time to reply to my post and offered me advice on this matter.

You could send the admin a message to delete your account. Normally Admins aren't too fussed on that.

Well don't send an e-mail but send a Private Message. Or you could just not go on the forum anymore. what I did in the past.

I am not even posting on the forum any longer and can you believe that this one individual is STILL mocking me ? It got me very upset so now I cancelled getting notification when there is a new post on the forum. I considered telling the person off but that would probably upset me even more so it is best to sever all ties and to not even visit the site to read posts.

The forum is urbantoronto.ca

It's a forum, it's just words, you're better off letting this all go and leaving this site than caring about a guy making fun of you :).
