Best Windows-8 laptop?

Hi everyone,

I am planning to buy a new, preferably 15-inch screen laptop with Windows 8, and preferably a touch screen. I want to use it mainly to program in Java, and use Photoshop and 3ds-Max. Does anyone have any suggestions to which laptop would be the best for these purposes?

What do you guys think about the Acer Aspire V5? :)
 
The Acer Aspire V5 sure looks nice however it sounds like you want to do some workstation-class stuff in which case buying this laptop would not be the best idea ever cause it's not a workstation laptop. My friend has an asus laptop with the exact same specs (and it was also touchscreen) and his laptop can barely handle minecraft. In programs like photoshop it is quite laggy. I would go for some gaming-class laptop if you really want a smooth experience in graphics editing programs.

I see, than I will look for something else (I am a complete hardwear noob). Do you think it is possible to get a laptop with a 600 dollar price tag which can handle programs like Photoshop well?

I just looked up this laptop and I can't believe it can't handle Photoshop well. It's got very decent specs.

Photoshop.. maybe it can, 3ds max... that might be rough, my friend's ultrabook with an i3 w/intel graphics 4000 can barely handle blender. I think that's because they under-clock the graphics so the ultrabook doesn't get too hot. I'm not a pro so if you want to go for it, go ahead, but I just wanted to share my personal experience (well personal via my friend :D).

+1 I'm personally not a big fan of the i3 for any heavy lifting. It's great for light use, but under load, disappointing. Great looking laptop though (Acer Aspire V5). Can't find one with an i5 or i7 though.

It might have good reviews, but again i3 is not the best for heavy-duty work, and because it's an ultrabook it will overheat in demanding games/programs.
