Ubuntu What Happened?

It looks quite nice in my opinion, but Ubuntu seems to run fairly slowly with it.

Are your graphics drivers up to date? That was my problem for a while, I thought the default one was fine but then installed the official ATI one for when I played around with Steam on there. Things got a lot faster.

Well I was running in in a VM so that could have maybe been the problem, but I also run it on an old PC with a 6600 GT and I don't think I ever installed the proper NVIDIA drivers.

I never found unity to be horribly slow, I just didn't like the interface. At work I have an Ubuntu 12.04 PC that I use quite a bit. It works well when I use Cinnamon over Unity.

Kubuntu is the shiz. A beautiful KDE environment with a near-flawless user interface, with all the modern fancy-stuff like opacity blurring and window animations.

BUT, I didn't know you could install a KDE add-on for Ubuntu... That just makes it even more awesome, gotta try this soon.
