Do you give it a thumbs up or a thumbs down?

I've seen the phone which has a sharp, vibrant color display compared to my current phone. I've heard both good and bad about the Samsung 3, the most recent is that it's "crappy." For $500 it's worth an investigation.

Do you think it's worth it or would you avoid it?

Many people around me uses Galaxy S3, and have not complained once.
 
Too late. Got mine yesterday. Galaxy S III
For me this is a toy only. (electronics).
Wanted the bigger screen.
 
For clarification I mean the Galaxy S3 (sorry about that). The ISP only just started doing the S3 which goes for $500 (still, at that price, they easily run out of that phone). I know that the S4 follows your eye movements which isn't enough to interest me. In the meantime let's stay focused on the S3.

That's only one small piece, it's hardware has been upgraded, better camera, larger battery, etc.
 
The ISP isn't doing a S4. The battery would be nice if a larger size means a longer period between rechargings (but then, how long would it take to charge a larger battery?). For now I'm staying focused on the S3.

S3 is an excellent device. It is quite fast, great screen projection and whatnot. If you use the USB plugged in to charge, it will take about an hour or so to fully charge, but if you use the power outlet, it'll take you about 20 minutes I think. I wouldn't see too much of a difference with the S4's new battery capacity.
BUT..

Like said above, I highly suggest that you get the S4 as it is soon to be released.

You get more battery power (2600 Miliamps or smoething, sorry I don't know the unit name lol), 4.99 inch screen, octa-core processor, etc... They added some new apps like, images with sounds (I don't know how popular this will be though) and stuff but you won't be disappointed. Pricing shouldn't be TOO different. I mean, if you got the money, why not just get the S4?

S3 would still do an excellent job if you wish to, nothing against it.
 
A five-incher wouldn't fit in my shirt pocket as it would readily be exposed to public view. I'd rather go for a tablet size and keep the tablet at home (which won't happen for a few years as my ISP isn't doing tablets either).

The other complicating factor is my ISP hasn't upgraded to 4G LTE service level yet in my area and I don't know if Samsung makes an S3 that's compatible for the 4G service.

The Galaxy S4 is actually smaller, even though the screen is larger than the S3.

What is your wireless provider?
 
Cricket is my ISP. Currently they're expanding their 4G "footprint" all around the country (apparently they're hitting the major urban areas first). As I've previously posted, there's strong evidence that 4G upgrading is taking place in my area (and it's anybody's guess when my area will be released for the 4G LTE service).

The Galaxy S4 is coming to Cricket.

To point out, because the site says it's coming to Cricket by summertime doesn't mean it'll be available in all the stores.

Here's another question. Apparently there's the Samsung Galaxy S3 and then there's a Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE and I'm under the impression that it's the Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE that runs on the 4G LTE network and not the Samsung Galaxy S3. Am I correct?
