Corsair TX850 Power Supply noisy?

Hey,
Just a quick question. I have a TX850 PSU and it seems to me that it's a little noisy from the fan.

1) Is the fan suppose to run all the time?
2) I tried contacting Corsair through their technical support, and they sent me an email back that confirms a RMA return. All I asked was what was the dBA rating for the PSU at idle. Should I send it away?

Out of everything in my system, I can hear the fan of the PSU. I narrowed it down to this by putting my ear up to it with the side panel off. I don't have an accurate dBA meter with me right now, but I am going to say around 50dBA. Any idea what the dBA rating is?

Try air blasting it out? Maybe something got jammed in the mechanism that's creating the sound. Is it like an electrical whine or something else?

It has a controller fan so at idle or low load you should not really hear it at all.
So it doesn't shut off at idle then? I'm just questioning if I am just being a pestimistic and wondering if I should send it in.

Any suggestions in a PSU that the fan doesn't run all the time?

It's more just the fan running. I'll try blowing it out.

Not sure if this is what you're talking about but I had a friend who's PSU wouldn't use the fan unless it got hot enough to have it be needed. I assume yours does the same thing from what Strangle said.

I believe they do. The GS series are Channel Well units. There around a mid range end unit and bronze certified. They slap a blue LED fan in them and call it a gamer series.
