Diagnostic through BIOS tools

I'm suspecting a dead HDD, I ran the diagnostic tool from the BIOS and it gave me "fails" I guess this is a bad HDD then?

Also when I got the computer (found in the thrash) it had a BSOD Unmountable boot drive (see topic here)

Yes the hard drive is bad. Unless you plug it into another computer and run the manufacturer diagnostic on it and it passes, then the HDD interface of the laptop is most likely bad.

I say don't try resurrecting that laptop anyway. They're crap and it'll die eventually.

If I can get it to work it might be more useful than yu think, especially for Uni work. Now I'm not going to spend 100s of dollars to get it to work so I might buy a new HDD and RAm, it will cost me around 80€.

And well everything will eventually die you know

when you start ur window press f8 and go to bios setting and change it..
