XP mode software?

I have win 7 64 bit, If i download the XP Mode software will it work for game downloads that are xp and not running right like Civ 4?

Hard to use , and is it worth the trouble.?:confused:
 
XP Mode is only available for Windows 7 Pro and above. If you have Home Premium, you'll need to get a copy of XP with a key and make a virtual machine in VirtualBox, VMware, or whatever virtualization software you prefer.

However just like any virtual machine, it has hardware limitations. Games don't normally run good in virtual machines (unless it's a very low graphics oriented game).
