Helping Brother since his computer is now locked out.

He changed user accounts and now can't log into the new account, and cant switch back to his main account where he knows the password because the new account/user screen is what pops up every time he restarts.

He has no windows 7 disk so cant restore to an earlier point that way.

What are his options?

Well I dunno what he did, he says he was trying to log into the guest account. It says his computer name on the log on screen.

I am not sure where the problem is, I never used a windows 7 machine im still on XP.

So weather he forgot the password or doesnt have it he cant get in.

Sounds like he deleted all the accounts.

Since its for your brother and helping then try this to find password.

ive mentioned before. Ya need more than one profile with password and admin rights.
If also you have only one back door its basically lights out. I have 2 besides mine.

Something happened and it won't boot to the log in screen anymore, and the kaycode for windows is scratched off the bottom too. So he may need to use the software previously posted above to retrieve the keygen to windows.

If it were my computer it would be repaired by now. He is being lazy and letting mommy give him hers.. jajajaaa family matters. :D

Do a system restore.

Tell him to go into SAFE MODE and on the login screen he should be able to see all the accounts he has created (unless if he deleted them all)...,but he should be able to see the admin account under SAFE MODE LOGIN SCREEN.
Once that is done,he should login into that ADMIN account and from there delete all invalid accounts (if not all except the admin account he is currently logged into) and then just create one single admin account which he would be using.

If he also forgot the password of the admin account, there IS a way to delete the password by deleting the hash code in which the password is stored using a bootable CD tool. After that he can create a new password on that same account or simply leave it without the password. But let's not get into that just yet before he tries this written above...

Cant you just log in as administrator and change the quest acc. password? Computer management/system tools/pick the local user/right click on guest/click set password.
