Sata2 3.0g is fine.. but how many sata ports are on your board?

you can use sata3 drives, but it wont be sata3 speed on that pc

well the computer has six but i dont know if they're all sata 2.0 also if sata3.0 are compatible with my computer, there is going to be difference, not even a little

and if i were to use this ssd for a sata 3.0 connector on the motherboard would they be compatible

That HP likely has the asus IPIBL-LA motherboard in it.. and it only has sata 2 ports.

You can use a sata3 ssd/harddrive but you would be restricted to sata 2 speed.

oh sorry, interpreted that wrong, would it be smart to buy a SATA III hard drive instead if i plan on changing the motherboard in the future, or should i just stick with the one i am planning to buy?

sata3 wouldnt be a bad idea if you plan a new build down the road. as you will def. go to sata3..

by the way, where in Canada are you?

i am in Brampton Ontario
also is the ssd i replied before compatible with labtops?

also the how do i install this ssd to my desktop, would i need to buy a mount(i asked this before)

Cool, I have family in Brampton and southward..in Burlington..

Alot come with a 3.5-to-2.5 adapter plate..just mount the 2.5"ssd onto the 3.5" adapter plate

I am also looking for an SSD to upgrade my Toshiba Satellite Notebook. Is there any suggestions from users here. I have understood that prices have come down a lot now. I dont need any big end and big brands. A decent performance one, with a reasonable price and performance will do. Any suggestions please help
