two anti virus programs

I know you're not suppose to have two but I've been running AVG and Microsoft Security Essentials since I bought the laptop (aprox a year) and I have never had an issue...both are fine (Never found anything on there cuz I am a precautios downloader)...I don't believe they ever scan at the same time...do I have to worry about anything or does anyone recommend one over the other? Thanks :)

avast and avira? I have never even heard of them (Btw I'm on windows 7 home)...I do download a few questionable files (Music and video stuff) so I need something that can screen a file in chrome and a program that can look through a zipped file/unopened file...for free :P so what would you suggest? I'll delete AVG when I get home tonight (rarely used it anyway lol)

I never really liked malware bytes...in fact I dread it and refuse to use it ;P...Thanks for the suggestions, I'm gunna stick with MSE cuz I know how it works and it's simple...if anyone is horribly against my decision and has a reason I would love to hear it ;P

Avira or Avast.

You can run two. Just make sure they dont run at the same time. Have each one ignore each others quarantine.

Not if both of them have resident scanners that run while you run/download files... They will most likely conflict with each other.

I've been using Avast for a while now, it's very good.

Once you turn off Avast's software updater add-on then its a very good program, I swear by it. Avast for the win.

Running Avast alone, I'm super lazy when it comes to that crap cuz I have a slowish HD and I can't stand trying to set things up to run lol...I haven't had an issue yet in my 8 years of computering besides ones virus that I took care of myself (it was a baby virus lol)

(I'm not suggesting running two. Just saying you can.)

In the case of residents scanners. Almost all of them have the feature so you can set what you want it to scan. Just dont set both for the same. Plus when you do full system scans using two programs like Avira and Avast (not at the same time) you can catch stuff that one might not.

Its just the regular computer user will load two and not set them up properly and will have conflits. Set up right you will have no problems.

Eh way too lazy to try to coordinate that ;p once I have my own internet provider I def will cuz I'll be batshiz crazy getting everything set up perfectly to never go down :P...Avast is kinda annoying with the pop ups and the audio alerts and crap but I haven't had time to sit down and calibrate it, I know it'll be great once its all set up
