Ok so heres the situation... I ordered a 24" 1920x1080 monitor from newegg, after I purchased it I realized it did not have an hdmi port, just vga and dvi. I don't have a dvi cord, so I'm left with vga. Can vga support the full hd? If I use a vga cable with it, will it still get the full 1920x1080 hd resolution?

VGA is an analog signal. DVI and HDMI are digital. Once you get into the HD+ resolutions you will need the higher throughput of the better adapters but at 1080 you are fine with any of the three.

some people will argue with me that they do but I used 2 1080 monitors. One on VGA the other on DVI. I couldn't tell the difference.

I can always tell the difference between VGA and DVI. DVI is definitely sharper. Plus you don't have to have it auto position the picture on the screen with DVI like VGA does.

I never had that problem. I wasn't using top of the line displays, but I would think that I could at least see some difference if they are so different.

It will be fine either way. If you need to tweak it due to some of the issues that voyagerfan99 mentioned, you will still get it to work just fine. If you have a buddy that has a DVI cable, see if he will let you test your setup with it. If it looks better with one, buy one. Don't go rush out and get one before you set it up with the VGA cable that you have.
