Gaming PC Build Budget of $1600

Doesn't look like a bad case you've chosen there, but the same sort of price and I can pretty much guarantee that this will be superior http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146067 if you don't like white you can get it in black too.

OK here is what I would do if I had your money:

Go for the Phantom case (or the one you like, it won't affect the cost)

CPU: i5 4670K http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116899
Motherboard: Z87X-OC http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128594
RAM: 8GB RipJaws-X 1866 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231455
CPU cooling (so you can overclock that i5): Corsair H60 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181030 I will say now I am not an expect on cooling, but that is one I would consider myself. Somebody else may have a better idea. :)

Graphics card: EVGA GTX 770 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130922
PSU: Corsair CX 600M http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139048

SSD (install Windows on this): OCZ Vertex 4 128GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227791
HDD (install game on here and store files on): Seagate Barracuda 1TB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148840
ODD: ASUS DVD-RW http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135204

OS: Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1 (thought you'd want Pro just in case you want to upgrade to 16GB of RAM in the future, Home is limited to 16GB included graphics memory) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116992 obviously if you already have an OS to use, don't buy it.

That comes to about $1550, and that's one good setup I can assure you. ;)

thanks for the suggestion but doesn't water cooling void the warranty on the CPU and dont overclocking void it to?

Having water cooling doesn't void the warranty but overclocking can do. Voiding your warranty by overclocking isn't a reason to overclock anyway - CPUs go wrong so rarely that having a 3 year warranty is almost pointless. Intel know full well that people who buy the 4670K will be overclocking it, hence why they multiplier unlock it and write all over the box that it's great for overclocking.

and what makes the other case Superior to the other one?
Better cable management, likely has better airflow, it's from a much better manufacture who will likely use higher quality material to produce it.

The Phantom is a great case.

I'd pick whichever case you like. Both are good from what I can see. I have the Phantom 410 (smaller version of the regular Phantom) and it's awesome. But that Raidmax case looks pretty good too.

I wouldn't worry about overclocking yet as you don't really need it anyway right now. Having the ability to do it later down the line for a free performance boost is always nice.

ok my friend wants to build his own computer and his budget is $2300 and he dont want the same case. he wants to have a full or a super atx computer

Depending on what OC you want to get with the 4670k I would either get the CM 212 Evo for 4.2 and under or the H80i or above if you want to go 4.5+. H60 is a good cooler but is a bit too expensive IMO for the performance of a single slim 120 rad.

The case looks fine. I am not a huge fan of raidmax products, but my last experience with them was on a budget case. The only problem that jumps out at me is having 3 80mm fans in the bottom. It will be loud.

The only other thing that I would change is the SSD. I have a vertex 4 now and it is fast but it is also kinda tempermental. Different hardware will slow the max speeds when booting, seems to have more problems with slowing down when having more data on it... It's still a good drive, but I would pay the extra $15 for the 840 Pro. The entire SSD is made in house and it is covered by a 5 year warranty.

@Spirit. I'll have to check on that 16gb limit with GPU memory. I have 16gb installed with 2gb cards. I thought I remembered having all 16 be usable. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

EDIT: yeah win 7 HP 15.6gb usable with 2gb cards. Task manager reads the same.

Go for the same sort of stuff I recommend for you but maybe get a GTX 780 instead of a 770 and possibly an i7 4770K instead of an i5 4670K. Maybe also get 16GB of RAM if he can afford it.

Yeah it's a pain, hence why I always recommend Pro for high-end builds. Home is fine so long as you're not planning to have 16GB or more RAM.
