Hi guys,

From websites like canadacomputers.com and ncix.com, which USB sticks do you recommend that I use to transfer and store data onto? Can't really decide atm...

I would prefer at least 32GB, price is not too much of an issue but preferably a low price.
Thanks for your help.

Yo swchoi89, if you haven't already gotten the Kingston: consider a LaCie PetiteKey, I use one on my keys for my unicrap, it's 100 meters water resistant, looks great (brushed aluminum exterior and minimalist design), it comes with software which is stupid proof and heaps easy to use which adds a bunch of features (cloud backup, 128 bit password encryption).

Being honest with you mang, I've really enjoyed using it. Tough as nails.

Thanks, I'll give it some thought. Durability is definitely important for me.

New here but thought i'd give my thoughts lol!

I had alot of problems with sandisk cruzer edge being write protected and moved to the SSK 32gb usb 3.0 and it seems to be doing the trick and of course it being usb 3 you feel the difference!

Thanks for the comment, definitely adds to my decision making, but I already ordered hehe :P

Nah I hate any kind of USB stick flash storage devices.
I had many of them...some were Kingston, some were Cruzer and so on...
After approximately a year of using them, most of them got crazy and all the data I had on them turned into weird chinese symbols lol.And of course the files were completely useless.I was able to recover some, but not all.
And no it was NOT the virus issue or anything similar.Just the crapy FLASH memory.

So if you want something reliable, use a good hard drive with good cooling and it will work just fine for even up to 30 years IF you take a good care of it (which people usually don't lol).

I hate flash storage devices since they all have limited number of reads/writes and once that number is reached (sometimes even sooner which sucks by the way) then most IF not all of your data is HISTORY which I call CHINESE SYMBOLS (or whatever the hell that is lol). Here is a picture of what happened to me with ALL my flash storage devices after approximately a year of usage:

I like to think of memory sticks as the "new" floppy disks.A lot of people don't think about memory sticks failing or getting corrupted. They are not all that reliable like everyone says and can suffer from failure at the soldering joint from inserting/removing repeatedly.Never mind the concept that you may be inserting your stick into multiple computers which increases the posibility of getting a virus on it.Everybody should back them up periodically or they can go bye bye very quickly and with no warning. At least that happened to me lol.

chinese huh..? lol that's so weird anyawys, maybe i should look into external hard drives instead then? 1TB is really cheap anyways... thanks for ur comment

BTW< do you know Talesweaver by any chance?

I would say the answer to your original question is that there isn't any. USB is not a good source of storage at all.

30 years huh? Boy that smells fishier than well...a mackerel. Best to just have multiple eggs in various baskets. Buy a few drives, back them up frequently, better than having one fail and have all your stuff *poof* gone.
