New build

I know very little about hardware but I've been interested in a custom build. I've also been interested in getting an APU, and I have the one I want (A10-6800K) so if anyone wants to fill in the gaps I still need everything else. I probably won't be doing much next-gen gaming, mainly older games and stuff like Minecraft that can be a hog with heavy projects. Budget is around 600-700$, preferably lower and a nice solid case. Thanks if you can help! :)

600-700 what? US dollars I presume?

I wouldn't go the APU route on a $600-700 budget, I'd probably get dedicated graphics instead.

Do you already have the 6800K? If you already have it you could do a decent build with 600 700 more. If not you might be better off going with something like a FX.

If your wanting a video card the APU is completely useless. Would be better off going with a FX 6300, same price.

$600-700 is reasonable budget, I think as a lot of people are indicating if you have not already bought the apu chip on that budget you could get a decent level graphics card.

Amd apu chips are a huge jump in onboard graphics, but are still no match for a good graphics card.

I would either go for a graphics card on your current budget or if you are not to fussed about strong graphics you could reduce your budget and save money.

Well if your wanting to use the Video on the APU to save money, the 6800K is about the best there is. Going with a FX 6300 you would need to buy a video card.

Yeah I was hoping to keep it lower, 6-700 was just a guess since I'm not sure what motherboard/power supply/etc I needed for compatibility/efficiency.

This build will probably cost around $525, maybe a bit cheaper (Denmark price directly converted to dollars. Denmark is usually 10-15% more expensive when it comes to hardware)
  • Fractal Design Core 1000
  • Corsair CX430M
  • Gigabyte H61M-HD2
  • Seagate Barracuda 1TB
  • Intel Pentium G860 3.0GHz
  • Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz 2x2GB
  • Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 2GB DDR3

That's without a Windows license though, which is like an extra $80 unless you have one already.

Edit: All items in the shopping cart (still without Windows) on Newegg costs $422.

Since you haven't bought anything yet:

Don't forget the rebate, because it's not showing up in my cart least.
