Another computer for myself

Hey guys,

I recently posted about building a new comp for my girlfriend. But now I need another one for myself, here is what I am thinking:

Case - NZXT Phantom 410
SDD - Samsung 840 256GB
CPU - i5-4670K
GPU - GTX 770 (MSI Twin Frozr IV) vs. Sapphire Radeon 7990 <-- Having difficult time deciding!!
PSU - Corsair 750W Modular (http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=62826&vpn=CP-9020040-NA&manufacture=Corsair&promoid=1300)
MOBO - Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H
Monitor - ASUS 24" 144Hz vs. 1440p
Cooler - CM Evo 212
RAM - Kingstom 16GB (http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=70944&vpn=KHX1600C10D3B1K2/16G&manufacture=Kingston&promoid=1062)

I'm having such a hard time deciding between 7990 and GTX 770... what are your thoughts?

Maybe my analogy is wrong but back when 3570K and 3770K was debated, there was minimal difference when it comes to gaming performance if they are overclocked. So I was going to assume the same for 4670K vs. 4770K. At least it seems like anandtech is showing that the difference is hardly noticeable unless I am going for something else other than gaming.

Not sure if you agree but that was my reason to choose 4670K and much cheaper :P
 
There's no real reason to get the I7 over the I5 if you're just going to be gaming on the machine.

I'd say go for the NVIDIA 770 as it's half the price of a 7990, and the performance isn't much below the 7990

According to Anandtech, performance is about double, and there is a huge sale on it (I can buy for $770.
 
Thats a great deal, and yes a 7990 will destroy a 770. And, do NOT get a i7. Unless you are doing pro work like cad or photoshop you won't notice a difference at all because there really isn't one, even in gaming there is only like a 2 percent difference.

what about my power supply and stuff? and what about the monitor dilemma?

And Im gonna get the 7990, but I have to choose between MSI vs. XFX vs. Sapphire. What do you recommend? 7990 should destroy even GTX titan when it comes to performance right?
 
It would be around the Titan in terms of performance. However if the Titan is around the same price it would be a better card, as it just uses one chip insted of 2. Upgrade to a 850W psu for the 7990, and the monitor you chsoe is good. If you are wondering, 144Hz in a nutshell is how fast your monitor can refresh. So a 144hz monitor won't display above 144 fps. Get at least 70hz. And, 1440p is overkill for a 24 incher. Get a 1920 x 1200 (or 1080) monitor if you go 24, or 1440 with 27.

Edit: Get MSI or Sapphire. If the MSI has a Twin Frozr, get it, if it doesn't just get the one with faster clocks.

Thanks for the help, but I can get a better one for similar price nearby so I'll pass. I think 1440p might be a bit far-stretched right now so 144Hz shouold be just fine as I need all the FPS I can get :)

Plus, what do you think of my rig?

They are exactly the same :P so I'll go with Sapphire.
This shouold ebe compatible with 4670K + the motherboard I put up there right? I've never set up intel cpu + AMD graphics card before.

According to this site, 750W should be good (100W extra space).. not sure how accurate this is?

It looks like you would be fine but I would rather go for an HX 850 to make sure that you have a bit of headroom for OCing. I am not the best with PSUs but that is what guru3d is recommending.
