1GB Memory / 27" 1080p Question

Okay so I just got a new monitor 27 Inch Benq 1920/1080 Resolution, mainly plan on gaming. Using a 7850 1GB Graphics card

I heard around that on a 1920/1080 monitor 1GB of video memory is kinda low (true?)

if the 1GB of video memory is indeed a bit low for what I am using, and again this is mainly all for gaming. what problems would I run into? If I run into the max video memory usage will the graphics card like, shut off?

Also will a games graphics settings have a effect on how much video memory is being used? As in If I drop the graphic settings to low will it be drawing less video memory?

First off tell us what video card you have. But generally 1gb is okay for a single 1080p screen, you might run into some trouble when maxing out in some of the newer games.

You'll probably be playing games on medium-high. Your GPU will not just shut off. I think you'd be fine.

When you say I might run into some trouble, what exactly will I run into? Like video lag or something in that matter?

The answer is no. 1GB is very low for todays games, but it really depends on what games. High resolution textures in games like Skyrim, Metro etc will easily use 2GB.

When the VRAM is full it will drop frames.
