I,m doing a system. Recovery on windows 8. I have a windows 7 disc. That I want to use. My PC pavilion is about 10 months old. Do you see any problems with. Me doing that.
 
So you want to try and do a Windows 8 system recovery with a Windows 7 disc or you want to reformat and fresh install Windows 7?
 
I assume when you say a recovery of windows 8 that means you want to restore windows 8 ?

Your machine should have a recovery partition, it may be a hidden partition, you just boot the machine and press the recovery hot keys which for hp I think is F11
