Waiting for Linux to Arrive....

...so I ordered Linux Mint Mate 15 for my gx620 to replace Wxp...will I be able to connect right up to the internet with my shared wifi connection using the Linux disc? I see some posts on the internet relating to problems with this...
 
Should be able to,Ive tried various different distros of linux on my second machine which uses a USB wifi dongle and most if not all of them have detected Wireless connections during setup.

Should be good, if not Linux Mint comes with I believe it is called nswrapper by default which will work with the Windows driver. If you can before install download your Windows wireless driver for the dongle and you should be able to use that with nswrapper in case there are issues with the open source drivers.

Linux Mint is based off Ubuntu so he shouldn't have any issue getting wireless right away.
 
Mint is almost the same as Ubuntu. I have had decent successes with different wireless options with either distribution.

well even if you do not need assistance saying all goes well which it should then let us know how it is working for you and your thoughts of Linux, of course if all goes well give it a few days of testing.
