Legal Windows Xp or 7 Download? (Will buy Activation Code)

I bought xp on ebay a year ago. It came with a 1.3ghz pentium. The reason why is because they cannot sell oem keys with out any hardware. So, you can buy the key and then you can just throw away the component it comes with, unless you want to use it.

And just letting you know, you can get an oem key for windows 7 that way for around $30.

Unfortunately I already bought a sealed copy of Windows xp oem from the seller I linked and can't return it (as far as I know).
I might be able to resell it and get my money back but i'm guessing i'd have to sell it with a component? (i have some old ram that may or may not be functional).

The only place i've seen 30$ Windows 7 license keys are from a sketchy looking site called REMOVED. Where are the legit licenses available from?

Also, don't confuse the EULA with legal. Two different things. One is what the company wants you to do, the other is statuatory requirements. Breaking an EULA, at worst, can result in the key being blacklisted, but nothing more. I wouldn't worry about the hardare requirement, as ive used OEM software heaps of times with no hardware connected, plus MS has no way of knowing.

You can buy OEM copies of windows 7 from newegg with no additional purchase required. The only difference between OEM and retail is that there is no microsoft support with an OEM license.

Yeah, there's none on ebay right now, but if you are patient you can hunt one down every once in a while. They usually sell them with pieces of broken laptops. I would google some reviews of the website you found before doing anything.

So can I legally resell a sealed Windows xp oem with a stick of ram (not neccesarily functional ram) that has no association with the copy of windows?

But it's oem? I though you had to resell oem with components or a full pc?
Or is that only if I actually install it on something?

That used to be a requirement from retailers a long time ago. That is no longer enforced. You, being the buyer can turn around sell it however you want.

I agree with voyagerfan99. You are not 100% sure if you will buy from eBay. You might waste your money only. Better get a licensed copy instead.

Disagree. Like all things on ebay, if you get someone with 100% positive feedback and say 100 feedbacks, then they're not going to risk that with pirated software. Secondly if it is pirate, then you get your money back anyway. Very little risk.

If I were you,I would not sell that Windows XP copy if you already bought it. :D

There are so many ways to make it work on any computer hardware.Too bad I can't tell you how to do that since it is against the forum rules lol...

Damn! :D
