Adding on to my gaming rig

I currently have a
cpu-q8300 quad
ram-4.5 assorted
video-radeon 5570
everything else is stock.
I plan on adding a artic freezer 7 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186134)
a new case fan (will post a picture later) to overclock the 2.5ghz to 3.0ghz maybe 3.1ghz. I am also thinking of getting a second radeon 5570 and run duel. My reasoning for running two lesser cards over getting a new one is I got this card for free and I bought my entire system for 170 dollars (extreme budget I know) so paying another 30 bucks for another 5570 which combined would have basically the same video processing power than I would to buy a 2g single 60 dollar newer card. I am already running 30fps on dayz on normal so I assume that with these upgrades I could run high and still average 30+? What do you guys think?

2 5570s is still very weak. $160 is enough, try for a 7870 as you can usually get one pretty cheap on sale albeit the recent price hike sucks. If you can't find one, get a 7850

DayZ is massively CPU dependent and you probably won't see your performance increase much at all with a new video card. I wouldn't get another 5570. What motherboard do you have? Because if your second video slot isn't x16, it's not worth it at all.

DayZ us very CPU dependent, yes, but a C2Q isnt a bad CPU by any standard. I think a 7850 will have a much larger increase in FPS over something like a 6300 and MSI 970.

Mother board is a 775, so dual video carding would really help me? It would be better to just get a better card. my board is ddr2 so I know I restricted on some things but I will look into the 7870 they just seem to be a few hundred dollars, if I couldn't find anything better for cheaper then I may just stick with my overclock and more ram.

It's just that 2 5557s is useless as they are weak cards and crossfire has issues, even more do with really low cards. Go with a 7870 and 8 GB of RAM or just a 7850 and 8 GB.

would not really help me* typo I just read that on video cars it is more dependent on the power supply than the ddr factory rating right? I am kind of new to this. Does this apply to ram or only to video cards? Also my budget for a new card or whatever mod would get me the most is around 40 dollars not much I know but I am a college kid with little money lol.

Video cards have their own RAM built in, which is not associated with your system RAM.
If your budget is $40, you gotta go used. You can't get a new video card for $40, sorry.

I have the 7850 and I can vouch for its performance, I'm not sure how it will perform in DayZ but I run DiRT3 and GTA IV on practically maximum settings.

Welcome to the forum. What CPU do you use? GTA IV is very CPU dependant, and poorly optimized for PC. Put your rig in your signature perhaps, looks good :)
My rig could barely run GTA IV on max settings, think I had to dial some of them down a bit. I want as close to 60FPS as I can though - could've played on max and finish it, but I wanted higher FPS :)

Thanks for the welcome :). My rig is currently in pieces, but I'll put it in when it's back up and running. Yours should be able to near max the game, judging by your signature

I don't think I was getting the 60fps that you want, but it was more than playable, maybe turn off/down shadow quality as I found that had a big impact. The 2GB memory on the card helps a ton with dialing up the settings.

However for now:
i7 920 @ 3.2Ghz
Gigabyte 7850 with a small overclock, cant remember exactly but not big
6GB OCZ ram

I have trouble running GTA IV simply because of my AMD Processor. For some weird reason the game runs remarkably terrible on AMD chips compared to an Intel chip. I have the draw distances at about 60 each and most other settings up all the way except shadows. Running around on foot nets me from 40-60 but driving around in a car it frequently drops to 25fps. And this is at 1600 x 900. Game is an unoptimized pile of crap. I used to have a Phenom II 955 and upgrading my CPU barely did anything for performance.
