Weird boot

I just installed a new graphics card and the booting sequence is weird. When I start my PC, it would POST and go to the screen with the mainboard logo and "press del to access bios". The PC will stay there for like 1 minute, during which it will beep 3 more times. Right on the last beep, it will go to windows normally. Any help would be appreciated

What video card? Have you tried resetting the cmos since putting in the new video card?

Go into the BIOS and disable any feature similar to "Full Logo Show". Then you'll be able to see what is happening during POST.

It's a gigabyte GTX 770 2gb. I'm running a seasonic 620W psu so it shouldn't be a problem of PSU. I think.

I have not reset the CMOS. I will try that

Go into the BIOS and disable any feature similar to "Full Logo Show". Then you'll be able to see what is happening during POST.

I just tried accessing BIOS by pressing delete. I couldn't go to BIOS and on the last beep, the PC just goes to a black screen

Also, can someone help me with this error accessing the forum?

Error 403

The 403 error is most likely related to the IP address being used to access the forum. Not sure of your location. May want to use a proxy to access the site. If you can't access the bios, then you may have to reset the cmos.

Thanks for all your replies guys! My PC is due for a reformat in a couple of days. I'll carry out your suggestions then and let you know how it go.

Okay. I've got it to work. Even after reformatting and resetting the bios, the boot was still the same, and even had some troubles with my RAM. I updated the bios and it finally worked. Thanks for all your help guys.

This tells me you didn't clear the cmos properly... You MUST keep the power cable connected with the PSU switch on when clearing the cmos.

Oh oops. I figured it was correct when I was prompted that the BIOS has been reset. Thanks for the info. Will definitely keep this in mind the next time I do it. Happy New Year btw! :good:
