AMD A10 6790K review

Hi guys!

I finally finished my first review and I'd be very happy if you guys could comment on it and give me some recommendations.

We gave the APU a silver award for its price range, it holds its stand against most i3s, is almost on the same price range and has a far better iGPU.
The APU beats every i5 we tested in graphical power.
For those who believe that the APU isn't a great overclocker, I reached 5GHz easy and 5.2GHz was even possible in CPU benchmarks (when the iGPU was enabled to, I had some problems with the temperature)

How do the A-series cards compare to the FX series? Which would be the better choice for gaming, assuming it's being used along with a graphics card?

You compare the A10 6790K to a FX4300 in terms of gaming, the FX6300/6350 and FX8320/8350 are better for gaming though.
 
Great review! Just wondering what voltage did you have for the 5.2gHz oc. Might be getting one soon and just wanna see how you're overclocking it.

1.512v I think, it overclocked great but watch out for the temperatures. I had a problem with the sensors. HWmonitor gets the most accurate temp, but it measures still a little higher then it actually is.

I don't recommend a 5.2GHz overclock for daily use.
 
Excellent review! I do however have a bone to pick here...
On '7. Real-World: 7zip & Truecript AES', the link to memory speeds are divided into three links. '9.' 'Using different' 'memory speeds' :D:D:D
A question though. The game benchmarks, is that lowest or average FPS? I assume it's not highest, because you're not an idiot :)

Great review man. I think I reviewed something years ago....cant remember what though. It wasnt anything special though. I would love to review stuff for a living, that would be a dream job! :cool:

I would like to see minimum charts as well, since it's usually the most important one :)

Regarding the links, it's nothing important at all. When you hover your mouse over a link, it gets underlined - and it looks like this: 9. Using different memory speeds instead of 9. Using different memory speeds - split up in three different links. Again, no biggie at all.
