Windows 9 to debut in 2015

I don't see the big deal with 8.2 I run it in desktop mode and its fast, stable and resource conservative.

They need to make 2 versions of the OS. One for touchscreens and tablets and the other for desktops. Bring the full start menu back. I mean when you install a program and sometimes it doesn't automatically create a desktop shortcut icon to open it, how do you expect some of these people to figure out where to find the program to run it? MS never thought it through fully.

Wow Windows 9 already?
What's the rush Microsoft? :D
I am still on Windows 5.1 lol. :P

Anyway...

I just hope it won't be like Windows 8.
Not saying that Windows 8 is bad,but Microsoft made things so weird in it that it is just hard to find something what you are looking for sometimes.
Once I tried to find freaking FOLDER OPTIONS and I barely found them lol.Took me 6 long minutes xD!
I was like:

"What the hell is this?!Where is the freaking control panel I don't want the damn apps!!!"

LoL where ever I would go,the damn apps would be FREAKING EVERYWHERE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

In Windows 9 Microsoft should put an option so that user can configure wether to use an OS as a tablet or a desktop instead of forcing them on one single option.

Oh yea...ALSO:

Freaking WordPad!!!

Here is an issue I encontered with WordPad in Windows 7.I am not sure if it's present in Windows 8 or not,but if it is then MICROSOFT PLEASE REMOVE IT.HERE GOES THE DAMN ISSUE:

Every time I would write a link in a text such as "www.computerforum.com" (without quotes),the text would automatically get light blue and underlined and there would absolutely be NO WAY to change that. There were NO OPTIONS in the damn WordPad to turn off the damn HYPERLINKS!!!
I could not change their underlines state, the color and so on!!!
I was freaking forced to USE hyperlinks the way Microsoft decided and there was no way to turn it off.
I did not investigate the registry or RTF codes to see if it's possible to turn that off THAT way,but even if it IS possible to turn actually turn it off THAT way then...that......just.........SUCKS!
I don't want to install external programs for stupid simple plain text or EVEN BUY OFFICE just because I do NOT want to use hyperlinks ROFL!
I would understand that if I WANT to use something and that WordPad does not have that then I would understand that installing another better text application or buying office would solve the issue, but for NOT wanting to use something????????

In Windows XP you could do anything you wanted in WordPad and were NOT forced to use something you did not want such as this damn forced hyperlinking!!!!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Sorry guys...that thing in WordPad just pissed me off SO MUCH 2 days ago lol...

Who wants Windows 7 or possibly 8 now?

Not me...

I just have a feeling that Windows XP was the last OS in which you had total control over everything...

And now...OMG!

Microsoft...my dear Microsoft...PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T FORCE USERS TO SOMETHING THEY DON'T WANT PLEASE DON'T DO THAT IN WINDOWS 9 PLEASE!!!

I agree with you. It is quick, very stable (more stable than 7) and yeah it doesn't use up as much resources. It's a good OS.

It doesn't surprise me that Windows 9 is supposedly going to come out next year. There is usually 3 years or so between each major release. Vista came out in late 2006, 7 in 2009, 8 in 2012, so it makes sense that the next major release comes out in 2015.

And STARS, I honestly don't think WordPad is a reason for the vast majority of people not to upgrade to 7 or 8.

Is this an official announcement?

I don't know if that's useful, although I hated Win8 when it came out I still wan to try to customize it (if I buy a new laptop this summer) and see what it can bring.

I read that Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 might also come out.

I am really curious about how these 2 things will look like...

Of course nothing can't replace good old products!

Some people hate 8 and some people love 8. To me I always get the odd ball versions and they turn out to be the best for me. As in stable and no problems. I like 8 and 8.1.
Granted, MS made a mistake trying to work with a Tablet software in their Desktop. But if you listen to all what the magazines like PC World and PC Magazine and certain others had put it that the Desktop computer was dead. And would not be around anymore, which in my book is a bunch of "BS". Of course, MS is going to try a different route. And then there is people that is to lazy to learn new ways or things. I always like to try new things. I doubt that I will upgrade to 9 though since I have money issues and I will run 8 till it craps out.

Windows 9 will be the last Windows OS whos version number contains ONE DIGIT number lol.

After that it will be Windows 10 and on...:D...and then all the way to Windows 99...the last Windows OS whos version number will be TWO DIGIT numbers hehehe...and then...

WINDOWS 100!!!

And I am probably gonna be dead long ago by then hahaha!

Dammit...:(

Nah don't listen to me lol...I haven't slept for 32 hours already and now I am waiting for my damn sneakers to wash in a rope washer and it will take 5 freaking hours to finish AAAAAAAAAA!!!

Sometimes it's best to got to sleep than write useless posts :)

Yea that's true.
I am SOOO tired, but I have to wait for my sneakers to wash first then dry them because later I gotta go somewhere and after that I again gotta go somewhere else and THEN I can finally go to sleep.
What a life ha? :P
And an analogy would be a game of musical chairs for once the music stops,S.T.A.R.S. goes to sleep. :D

Yeah but this belongs (if it does) to the reflect on life thread, it has nothing to do with Win 9 :).

Back on topic!

I am hoping they make Windows 8 go away, people say Vista was bad, but no, really compared to 8, vista actually was just a slight design change, this is actually killing continuity of the UI, which is freaking retarded. Metro/Modern needs to die, the quicker the better. If they had a Desktop vs Mobile installer and allowed you to cut out Metro/Modern completely that would have fixed my biggest issue with the OS, and keeping the legacy positions of everything in the process...moving stuff that really has not moved in years just makes no sense, the whole Metro thing seems like it was developed by committee...and no one on the committee actually used a computer.

I am just hoping that Windows 7 was not the last OS with normal DESKTOP functionality.
Who knows...maybe Windows 9 will just be another metro only with more features...
And nobody wants that lol...not me at least.

I wouldn't mind the metro if you could switch to normal desktop functionality in control panel or somewhere else...,but they never put such option...:(

I really hope that Microsoft realized what they did.
I mean don't get me wrong...I don't hate Windows 8.It's a great OS and works perfectly great and metro was a nice change since some users like it more, but what I did not like is that they just forced the metro everywhere...

But then again you gotta understand the Microsoft company on the other side too...They always need to make something new since that results in them earning the money...so I don't know...it must be quite a challenge to invent new things all the time...Metro was the new thing this time...maybe not the best, but it WAS new. :D

I am really curious to see what Windows 9 will be like...
And yea...Microsoft...fix the damn WordPad hyperlinks so we can turn them off hahaha!

Also I am really curious for the START button menu...Will they keep it as a fullscreen as they made it in Windows 8 or will it be a normal small menu like it was in Windows 7 and backwards...hmmmm...who knows what is waiting for us in Windows 9!

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Man...that sounds so far from 1985. when Windows 1.0 came out...and now Windows 9.0 in 2015.!!!

Maybe they should give it a name too,(instead of just version numbers),such as it was the case with Windows 5.1 which was "XP" and Windows 6.0 which was "Vista".
Or will they just continue calling them by version numbers...hmm...

I like Windows 8.1, it boots super fast and is stable.

I had no issues thus far although I do recognize that most people do not handle the learning curve as well as others.

That being said, I am looking forward to Windows 9!

Learning curve is not that hard...not to me at least...took me less than an hour to adapt and do everything as I always do.

Today I had someone who bought new laptop and it had Windows 8.0 (not 8.1) on it and he wanted me to setup few basic options and programs for him since he didn't know.
I did it all in 47 minutes approximately...It took a little bit longer until he found his damn wireless LAN password lol. :P

Anyway...it was kinda fun actually...Windows 8.0 has some different START button on the right side hidden lol...
And the SHOW ALL APPS button is kinda cool too.
Maybe too much stuff Microsoft put there for someone who doesn't have good computer knowledge such as this guy today I set up the laptop for,but for me it was not a problem.I don't know...it was so damn easy lol.

Task manager seemed to have few nice extra functionalities too which XP did not have plus tons of other things. :D

Anyway...

Do I like Windows 8.0 or/and 8.1?

Yes.

How much?

A lot.Just like any Windows OS of course. :D

More than XP?

Well...no.But it IS a great OS! :P

I don't get why people complain about METRO anyway. It is not so hard to navigate through it with a mouse as many people say...
It's a nice change...

But of course I will probably always prefer the classic way.

Can't wait to see Windows 9!

Hate metro. Has nothing to do with adapt or learning curve. Can use it fine, took 15 minutes to figure it out. The only three desktop OS microshaft has made worth a crap is 98SE/2000 which is the same as XP with Disney theme and 7. With ME/Vista and 8. You know the saying, if you put crap in the brim of a hat and wear it long enough, you wont smell it anymore.
