Need help picking out parts for my brothers new computer

My brother wants me to build him a new computer that's fast (so it needs an SSD, can run all the games he wants it to, and for it to last him a long time (so very up-gradable). I came up with this parts list: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/2PnzH

Can I get parts that are around the same or better for a cheaper price and are the companies that make the parts I listed reliable? He only wants to spend around 1 grand. Also don't forget that my brother has no peripherals for a computer at all so do I have everything I need for a new computer? And does the MoBo have a built in sound card? Also the parts site has to be the Canadian version.
 
Three Things:
1. I Agree with Cisco001, a Z87 Mobo will totally pay off in the long run

2. You don't need a 2TB HDD if you have a 128GB drive. The Os and 5 games could fit on the SSD and an extra TB won't do much for you.

3. I would recommend Windows 7 as it is all around a better operating system.

Disagree.

Z87 i agree with, but 128GB SSD certainly isnt enough for 5 games and an OS. BF4 for example is 25GB by itself, similar with COD Ghosts.

Also, Windows 8.1 is fine.
 
0.02 - the rams fine, you wont see a diff with 1600 - 2133 unless you are using a APU; gamer ram for the most point is snake oil.

+1 you should get some extra storage. 128GB is not enough for the OS and all of your games and other programs. Granted, I have a 128GB SSD and I've got about 43GB spare, but I don't have any games installed onto it.

Windows 7 will be 5 years old this October, so I'd advise getting Windows 8.1 now since that is the newest and it's a good OS. It's faster and more stable than 7.
