My first Desktop build!

Hey everyone, I've been looking for a good forum full of Hardware savvy PC builders(I'm more of a software guy myself), and I think this might be the forum! So as the title suggests, I'm building my first pc. This being my first build I'm extremely unaware of what is good and what is bad. For this, my first build, I'm looking to create a PC that is able to play games on ultra(Highest quality) and record said game in the background, while maybe render a video, all at the same time with ease. My budget is around $2,000usd, I've already gathered a few parts, and done some research on them, and I'd like it if you guys could possible take a look at it, and maybe tell me some spots I need to improve on...and if these parts are even compatible(oh the glory of a first build! haha). Any help is much appreciated!! Thank you guys!!!

Just my two cents: If you're gonna drop $2K on a machine, go Intel, not AMD.

I agree with twiki for the most part, however, if you would spend the extra few bucks, I would use this RAM and this Blu-Ray drive. I would only do this, though, if you do not need peripherals such as a keyboard, mouse, and monitor or an operating system.

I'll look into intel although I heard that it's a bit overpriced for what youre buying and youd be able to get the same thing for a better price out of AMD. But you guys obviously know best! So i'm putting my first build into your hands and i'll look into all of the recommended parts! This as a build would be very nice! I think this might be my new goal, I just look into these parts and i'm liking them! Is there anyone else here that can second his build suggestion? If so, i'm sold!
 
Ok, i would change the following.

Currently you have a 220 dollar motherboard, most features that you'll probably never use. Get this instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128607

Save $143

That PSU is a rip-off and total overkill even for a 780, let alone a 770, Get this PSU for $110 less, plenty of amperage for any single gpu.

Thats a saving of $253.

Now get the GTX780 which as a gaming machine will rape the 770 and everything else besides about 3 gpus on the market. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133489

Overall, you're getting a GTX780, a capable PSU and motherboard, significantly better gaming and another 70 bucks to spend on a case or anything else.

IF you wanted to go all out, you could get something like this ($100 more then you wanted to spend but just downgrade the HDD). But, the build Twiki recommended is fine WITH Okedokeys recommendations. It's actually kind of low end for $1600 without them. Though I would get a CX600M, only about $15 more. A CX500M can handle a 780 and i7, but there would be little overhead. You'd be running the PSU at about 90 percent which is to much IMO. It's better to keep 20 percent overhead at the least if you ask me, based on what I've heard.
 
I've only read the first few posts here (refer to first line in my signature) but $2000 on an APU build is ridiculous... Let alone you're going AMD...

I'm an AMD fanboy but if you have the money go with Intel!

Yeah if you read more of the thread you'd know we already recommended an Intel build.
 
I think you'd be daft to spend £2,000 on a machine and then get an AMD CPU... They are budget options.
