Connect PC to Wireless Printer

I need to wirelessly connect my older model HP desktop to my new HP Office Jet wireless printer I don't have internet service nor a network router. Can I use a print server connected to my computer with Ethernet cable to send signal to my wireless printer?

Another question is, (my preference of the 2 scenarios), can I do the same connecting by using a wireless pci adapter card in my computer moboard to communicate with the wireless printer without a network router?

Thank You for your reply. The computer has previously used a belkin router. This time I will get a Linksys. Where can I find the software to uninstall the Belkin if uninstalling is necessary?
 
You can uninstall the belkin software by using add/remove programs, if any software was installed. You can always manually configure a router without installing any software. How much is your budget for a router? Do you plan on using it for internet at any time?
 
I don't think I mentioned that my O.S. is win xp pro.

I have looked in add and remove programs and the router is not there, so maybe no software was installed. I suppose I will install the software for the router I'm getting and hope it won't find anything left over from the belkin to cause conflict.

I am getting a used (but working) Linksys WRT 54g router from a family member. I do not plan to ever use it for internet. As you know, this router has the 4 ports plus the internet port. Do I leave the internet port empty and connect the computer into the first of the 4 other ports? Do you know where instructions can be found to show how to display the information in the router (SSID, passphrase, security, etc.)?
 
Leave the internet port alone and just hook up the pc's to the other 4 ports. To get to the router configuration page type 192.168.1.1 into the browser address bar and hit enter. When you get the login, the default is leave user name empty and password is admin. The previous owner may have setup a different login so ask them first.

You won't need to install any software to make the router work.
