Netflix audio lags

I have major issue where HD and SD playback "lags", or audio sync just disappears and picture becomes sometimes several seconds behind the audio. It happens every time. Doesn't matter if it's Chrome or IE 11. This issue has been happening for about a week now.

I troubleshooted through Netflix, Googled the problem, no fixes so far, so I must post here.

Internet speed is 50 Mbps. I know it's not the connection speed because internet speed tests before streaming show a consistent 45 to 50 Mbps. Netflix buffers HD instantly.

Windows is up to date. Silverlight is up to date. Chrome is up to date. Internet Explorer 11 is up to date.

Graphics drivers are up to date.

The only thing I can think is hardware at this point. Anybody else had this problem? Assistance would be great, thanks.

AMD Phenom 9550 2.20 GHz
4GB DDR2 RAM
Asus M4A785-M
Using onboard ATI Radeon HD 4200 wired through HDMI to 32 inch HDTV.
Onboard Ethernet to router 100 Mbps connection
Windows 7

Also I meant VIDEO LAGS, audio is fine.

This is a guess but I would probably say that your integrated video can't handle HD video. Toss in a cheap dedicated card and you should be good to go.

Not to mention the current Netflix drama. Not entirely sure how it all started, but the end result was the data carriers throttling their bandwith. I'm on a 50MB FIOS package and Netflix is the only thing that lags. That Amazon thing is looking pretty good right about now.

Interesting, I've never had a problem before. Odd that all of a sudden it's happening now. The integrated graphics should easily be able to push HD through HDMI, especially Netflix 720p.

I know for sure it's not bandwidth. We have no problem streaming 3 devices at once, laptops with lower graphics cards handle HD fine.

Also imsati you're paying for 500 Mbps from FIOS?

Well never mind then. Probably some kind of throttling issue then. Done any virus scans recently?

Yes absolutely. Nothing has turned up. I mean in all other aspects the computer runs amazingly. It's like watching older Japanese movies haha

Ask around and see if anybody else with your ISP is having issues with Netflix.

I fixed the problem. I noticed CPU temperature was getting hot during Netflix loads (60- 70 degrees Celsius) which is really maxing out the temp range. Not good. I pulled out CPU and noticed all of the heatsink compound had deterriated. Reseated CPU with fresh compound and bam, no more lag during loads, CPU runs at 30 to 40 degrees Celsius. No more visual lag. Problem solved.

That's not what I would have expected. Good job fixing it though!
