Hey there!

I'm streaming video PC to PC (vid is on windows 7 PC, watching it via streaming over wifi on a Windows 8 laptop)

yet, it seems like every min. or less it'll lag for a sec...

...Anybody know what's going on here? Help would be FANTASTICALLY appreciated,

Thanks!

I haven't used Windows 8 at all....how are you streaming it? Is there some built in method that makes a wireless access point on the laptop that you connect to? Or is it via a shared folder and you are using your router or something?

I guess either way, do you know the speed of your wireless?

It's probably slow network speeds. I stream HD videos from my desktop to my laptop without an issue when I'm home (Running ASUS RT-N56U router).

Yeah I should note that the file is a little over a gig, in 720p...

how do I determine network speeds?

yeah, shared folder that's being accessed via a wireless router

You are just double clicking the video in the shared folder then I take it?

It depends on the codec being used but I'd expect any wireless above b (and it's very likely you aren't running b) to be able to stream a 720P video without too much trouble.

If you try to copy the file to the local machine first, how long does it take?
