My old HDD

Hi all,
I wonder if my old HDD is still OK, and if it will slow down my FX 8350 that comes next week, not to mention that I've been having it since the E8400 wasn't even launched yet... 2007, with a sempron 2300+

Hard drives don't slow CPU's down, but you would get faster performance with an SSD :good:

It looks like that thing is starting to wear out a bit after ~4.3 years of on time.

The drive is low in density and wouldn't give you that great of a transfer rate. An SSD would blow its doors off, but you'd even notice a large difference with a 7200 RPM multi terabyte drive.

Like voyagerfan99 said. It has nothing to do with CPU speed. The drive would be ok as a temporary. It is a 7200 RPM drive. But kinda small and only has 8mb of cache.

I know they don't slow CPU's down but I didn't knew how to ask this, yeah I was wondering if I will get good performance out of the OS.
Anyway I hope it won't affect framerates so much

It also has nothing to do with the GPU, so no impact on framerates in most games.

The obvious exception is for games that load textures as you go, so like Skyrim/WoW/etc may pause a bit while the drive tries to keep up.

Anyway I am also worried about the 650ti OC not beign able to run modern games smoothly, am I worrying to much (I hope so)
