Mussing with my computer... We don't really like each other (not hate, just don't really like another) and I let him use my computer recently, and something odd happened after he got off it. My internet would not connect and I had to go through all this crap to find out the 'DHCP' options (whatever that is) were apparently not on, or at least I think that was the problem.

I'm not a computer whiz, so I dunno if there could be another cause, and that just happened to fix it or what, but anyway, to the main topic. I need a recording program I can leave on without giving any indicator it's on, as in no toolbar icon or anything he can see. I want to leave it on and go through it later, because if I just use my Hypercam it will be too obvious. Is there anything like this, hopefully free?

Yes. A password on your laptop and a request to not use it. I dunno why you people just dont have a conversation.

Well like I said, I'm not sure he actually tampered with it, could of been a coincidence, and he would deny having done it anyway, so a conversation would not very be productive.

That's why you put a password on it and not tell him what it is.

I am working on a software which does exactly what you want.
Unfortunately I can't talk about it here since it's against the forum rules...

But anyway...just out of the curiosity...If you don't like him then WHY did you let him to use your computer???

Just b/c you don't like somebody doesn't mean you should automatically deny the access to anything that belongs to especially if they asked permission to use it. He most likely needed it for something important and he'd be a douche to say no. I don't like my sister some times, but I let her use my computer if she really needs it.

Well, if someone can confirm that the problem would only be caused by someone mussing with my computer then I will not let him use it again. I find it hard to believe though because he is more of the Jock type, I doubt he has any knowledge of computers outside of clicking the internet button and searching Youtube and Facebook.

Well if it was working fine before he used it, one can only assume he messed with it.

And THAT my dear friend results in messed computer.
People don't know what they are doing and they just make things worse.
God knows what he did...

Just be smart next time and don't let other people to use your computer.
I never EVER let ANYONE to use mine...and guess what...it still works perfect since 2004.!!!
