Card Reader

Dear Friend

I have Dell Inspirion 15- 3521 laptop With window 8, 64bit.
When I try to copy from my SDHC card to laptop, I can't see sdhc card
in window explorer. There is a card reader slot in laptop.
I downloaded Card reader driver from Dell website and try to
install the driver but it's always failed ? I tried many times.

When I check device manager, there is NO card reader, I do have
Dell's PC Checkup, after the checkup, all result are OK, But when I
try Dell website "Hardware Diagnostics for card reader"
result show NO MEDIA found ?
Can somebody help me ?

Check the BIOS and be sure the card reader is enabled.

If the driver failed then of course you won't be able to use it.

Which driver pack have you been trying to install?
It looks like they have different versions of the driver at Dell depending on OS

New install of Windows? Install the chipset drivers first, the card reader runs off USB2.0 usually, so go to the intel driver download and install the latest inf drivers

I didn't expect it to be, but it was worth a try.

So you don't see any type of card reader in Device Manager?

Never worked.

I download the right driver from Dell website only and for right OS.
Did i missed something ?

If it's not even listed in device manager then that means there's a hardware issue. You'll probably need to send it into Dell for them to look at it.
