So my trial version of Malwarebytes has ended and I uninstalled it but all the files are still there. I can’t delete or shred them even after changing the read only settings in properties.
I even went into regedit and deleted everything with Malwarebytes

Is Malwarebytes a virus in itself?

if you liked what it did 25.00 gets you a lifetime licence.best money ive spent in a while.

I would gladly pay the fee if I actually knew it did something. I've installed this 3 or 4 times over the years and I don't know if it did anything except remove cookies which my Bitdefender total Security already does.

I guess I need more endorsements like you have just gave. :)

If you want to delete all unwanted files from your PC (which in this case are files from Malwarebytes) and Windows won't let you do it then you can:

-Use SAFE MODE and try from there

-Use Linux Ubuntu CD-ROM disk, boot from it and try from there

-Install Process Explorer and use it to close all opened DLLs or/and handles on the location from which you are trying to delete the files and try then
(This is how I usually do things)

-You can always try Unlocker, but I never use it.Process explorer can do a whole lot more

-Use Windows Live boot CD disk, boot from it and try from there

NOTE: In some extreme cases there is a posibility that there are errors on the drive and the files which you are trying to delete are either damaged or simply not there (even though Windows OS is showing them graphically). In that case perform the CHKDSK process on your entire drive and make sure you use all the neccessary parameters: /F /R /X /V
Once that process is done, you can try deleting the files again (if they will even be there after CHKDSK completion) using one of the above procedures...

Cheers!!!

Malwarebytes doesn't remove cookies from your system, it removes malware. There is no need to pay the fee to run malwarebytes. Run a free antivirus such as Avast and when reinstalling malwarebytes uncheck the free trial. Then you can use Malwarebytes as an on demand scanner only.

When you say you are wanting to delete all the files, what files are you talking about?

OK I was able to delete everything from safe mode.

I wish I could have shredded them with Bitdefender, but I guess It dosn't work in the trash.
