Reinstalling windows starter for Dell Netbook.

So the hard drive fried.
When I go to put a new hard drive in I will not have windows installed.

I have the product key.

So is there a way I can get windows 7 starter online through microsoft or dell and put it on a USB Flash drive and just reinstall?

Or am I screwed?

I have to admit...I haven't seen someone using the STARTER edition of ANY Windows version for a LOOOOOOONG time. :o

The last time I used the STARTER edition was the Windows XP starter edition with the service pack 3 which I put on my mom's laptop back in 2009.
 
They install the starter version for all netbooks. Uses less resources and than home premium. Thats only because max memory for netbooks is usually 2 gb.
 
Yeah it seems to be sufficient though.

Just need to figure out how to get it. Cnet offers free download for it, but would the product key work that I have on the bottom of the laptop?
