How much power? Please help

ok so heres my setup, i would like to know how much power from my psu i need, this is the only thing ive never understood about building a computer, i have tried 2 different calculators but i want to be on the safe side and get a second opinion.

What if i got the 750w? where does that extra power go? it would be for future mods.

It's just wasted power. Power supplies are more efficient near peak load, so the extra power would just be a waste. In any case, a quality 600W PSU is much better than a crappy 600W and will be able to handle upgrades down the road. If you need more power, you can always get another PSU down the road.

It doesn't really go anywhere. 750w would be simply the availability of wattage that your unit could provide.

The same components would pull the same wattage whether you were using a 500w or a 1600w PSU of equivalent efficiency.

I personally like Cougar's CMX power supplys. I have the CMX 1000-watt version. They also make 500 and 760-watt versions. I think you should get the Cougar CMX-760.

Exactly. No need to spend a ton of money on a PSU when this is all you need and more.

If he did I'd get the Corsair CX 750M or the Corsair TX750 V2 or something from XFX or Silverstone over that Cougar unit.
