Who Are Some Sites Online That Build PCs?

I'm not looking for an Alienware, Cyberpower, really expensive custom gaming PC to be built for me. I would like to provide a list of parts to a company and have them build/test the processor/mb... the whole tower really and ship it to me. I don't have much experience with that stuff and the idea of mounting the processor to the MB myself makes me cringe haha. I have been trying to work with Directron by email to get a quote but they are incredibly slow to respond to emails... I'm talking several days to respond which doesn't give the best impression of the company. What are some sites/companies online that will do this per my specs and are good and knowledgeable that could maybe give me feedback on something that may be a better idea. Right now I am looking at the following for an audio workstation... the case is the only thing that is really set in stone for me... but I have done a lot of researching that lead me to these choices. I would like to cut cost if possible where I can. I do want a system that can handle 3 monitors. HDMI, Firewire, SPDIF and WiFi are also needed. Thoughts on the setup would be appreciated but more importantly suggestions of companies that will do what I mentioned. Thanks!

I would just recommend going to your local computer repair shop and see what they would charge you to do this. With having a company build it, you never know what you are actually getting. You buy the parts and give them to your local shop and have them build and test it. Or find a local person that does this on the side and it would be much cheaper.
 
As stated, a local shop should be able to do this for you.

Conversely, if you read the manual and research methods such as watching youtube you'll find that it doesn't have a large degree of difficulty..

Yeah, I was thinking about that but it would be nice to bounce ideas off some people which I guess I could do here to get me a quality tower at the lowest price that meets my needs. Any thoughts on the setup I listed? I'm not even sure really where I need to look to make sure I have support for 3 monitors. I know you can do that through graphics cards but that would add more noise. Am I looking at the processors built-in graphics or is that a feature of the MB?
 
id agree with a lot of the other users. Building a pc is not difficult. The insertion of the cpu to motherboard is also really easy. you just have to take your time and gently lower the cpu in making sure its aligned with the two white arrows. Then its a case of lowering the lid and securing in place with the tension lever.

ive seen many people almost drop the cpu into place, just take your time with placing all the parts. Dont over tighten anything.

if anything goes wrong you can 100% get the cpu replaced by intel free of charge even if you microwaved it. i bought a broken cpu of ebay (shown as working) and sent it to intel for a replacement and they still replaced it with no bother.

they will charge you im guessing quite a few £ or $ depending on where you live. for delivery, stock item prices and for the building of the pc.

in my eyes it gives you experience, when you come to replace the cpu paste, remove or upgrade any parts you have full knowledge on how to do it. not to mention the yearly dust out.

it may void the warranty overclocking the pc or even so much as taking the side off. it will save a lot doing it yourself not only because your not paying someone to do it but because you can get discounted items on sale whereas the company may charge you full price. Not to mention you can do whatever you want to it in the future.

you could put that saved cash into a better component or something like a good cpu cooler if your planning to overclock, SSD, GPU etc.

It's a good setup. What kind of stuff do you want to do with this PC? If you're not interesting in gaming then a relatively basic and inexpensive graphics card such as a GTX 750 Ti would fine and offer you your 3 monitor support. You can use onboard graphics but probably best to get a dedicated GPU.

Not sure why you want two SSDs. Just get on 250GB or 500GB drive. Samsung 840 EVO is a good choice. :good:

I thought what I had listed already, supported 3 monitors.
 
Yeah it does - but you will probably need adapters for each of the connections. Typically motherboards/integrated graphics have 1x VGA, 1x DVI and 1x HDMI. You can use all 3 at the same time if you like, but if you have 3 DVI monitors for example then you'll need adapters for the other two - you get the idea.

I don't see any dedicated graphics card listed in your list. Sometimes having a proper card can make life easier when dealing with stuff like this.

What are you doing with this PC? Gaming? Editing?

It will be for audio recording in a home studio, i wanted to avoid adding a graphics card because that just means more fans, more noise

I need to cut the price down some if possible (can't find any of these parts in bundle deals with other parts on my list) so adding to it is not what I really wanted to do budget wise but you do make a good point.

Well the board you chose doesn't work with the i5 4670K anyway. That's a Z77 board you have there that only works on Socket 1155 CPUs. The 4670K is Socket 1150.

You need a Z97 motherboard.

And I'd stick with 2x8GB just to make upgrading to 32GB easier when/if you do. :)

You can pick all your components on NCIX.com and they will assemble and test it all for $50 extra.
