Hi. I bought this laptop for my grand dad and it came with linux, so i installed windows 7 because i don't like windows 8.

BUT... There are no windows 7 drivers. I've spent few hours looking for them (including this forum).

I need WIFI and Ethernet drivers, which (as i said above) i can't find. I would very appreciate if someone could help me finding them for windows 8.

Ok, then I need some details from you. But first...

To install the chipset driver, go here and run the automated install.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx

Click on the update driver button, that should get that part going for you.

As far as the network driver goes. Go into device manager and right click on network controller, click on properties, click on the details tab. Give me the 4 digit vendor and device id numbers. They look like this. ven_xxxx and dev_yyyy where x and y are 4 alphanumeric digits.

I just downloaded that file for the ethernet driver. All you need to do is go to where its extracted and run the setup program and it should install.

I've installed the chipset drivers. And when i try to install the ethernet driver i get an error saying: 'Installer can't find Qualcomm Atheros Ar81Family ethernet controller on your system.'

Hardware ids: (of ethernet controller) 16B3
Vendor number: 8086

(The wifi works perfectly, by the way.)

Thank you for your help.

Are you sure that says 16b3? 8086 designates Intel adapter. But there is no 16b3 device. Can you post a screen shot?

I think i messed up with the vendors id.

EDIT: I would also appreciate if you could help me installing the touch pad drivers. I tried downloading a few, and no one of them seem to work. (And i tried pressing Fn + f6-f7 keys).

Thank you.

I"ll have to work on it more tomorrow. Don't know why there are so many issues with drivers with this specific model. We've had so many threads with people wanting windows 7 drivers for it.

I really appreciate that.

EDIT: I just decided to buy a wifi router for my grand pa. No need for ethernet drivers, and thanks for help.
